    General Information About Translations

    1. What tool does Qminder use for translations?
Qminder uses Amazon Translate for its auto-translation feature. While it provides general accuracy, it may not account for contextual nuances. We recommend reviewing and editing translations manually to ensure they are correct and fit your context.

    2. Is the translation feature included in my subscription plan?
Yes, the translation feature is included in all subscription plans. There are no additional costs for using it.

    3. Does the translation feature apply to all touchpoints (e.g., SMS, iPad, Visit Planner)?
Yes, the translation feature covers all touchpoints, including SMS notifications, iPad flows, Visit Planner, Services, and custom input fields.

    4. Are updates to translations reflected instantly across the platform?
Yes, any changes you make to translations are reflected immediately across all relevant touchpoints in your account.

    Managing Translations

    1. What is the character limit for input fields and SMS translations?

      • Input fields: The character limit is 50. Adjust the English text as needed to ensure translations fit within this limit.
      • SMS translations: The character limit is 140. Similar adjustments may be required for English text.
    2. Can I manually edit translations?
Yes, you can manually edit translations to ensure they are accurate and appropriate. [Learn how to edit translations here.]

    3. What should I do if a translation seems incorrect or awkward?
Manually review and edit the translation to ensure accuracy. Auto-translate may not always handle specific terms or cultural nuances well.

    4. Can I edit or delete translations in bulk?
Currently, translations can only be edited manually, one by one. Deleting translations requires removing the associated language entirely.

    5. Can I export or import translations for easier management?
No, Qminder does not currently support exporting or importing translations. All edits must be made directly within the platform.

    Language Settings

    1. Can I enable or disable languages?
No, you cannot enable or disable languages. However, you can add or remove languages.

    2. What happens if I remove a language?
Removing a language will delete all translations associated with that language from your Location settings and workflows. If needed, you can re-add the language and use Auto-translate to regenerate translations.

    3. Are there any restrictions on the number of languages I can add?
No, you can add as many languages as needed. Keep in mind that managing a large number of languages may require extra effort.

    4. Can I delete English from my location?
No, since the auto-translation feature uses English as the base language, it cannot be deleted from the Languages section under Location settings. You can, however, change its display order relative to other languages.
