Check these steps to create a welcoming sign-in experience in non-English languages.
If your facility primarily uses a language other than English, you may want to customize the iPad welcome screen by changing its language or removing English from the available language options. You can do this in three easy steps.
1. Add languages to your location
To start using languages other than English:
-
Go to Location Settings > Languages.
-
Add the desired languages to your location from the middle of your screen.
If you're already using languages on the iPad, click the Continue button to sync all available languages from the iPad to your Location settings.
Ensure all the languages you want to use are listed here. These languages will be available on the iPad devices.
English is the base language for auto-translations, and it cannot be removed from the system.
2. Translate your service elements (Optional)
Once the languages are added, you can use the Auto-translate feature to translate all service-related text elements automatically:
-
Click the Auto-translate button in the Languages section under Location Settings.
-
This will generate translations for Services, custom Input questions, Text messages and other check-in flow elements.
Review the translations if necessary manually edit them to ensure accuracy and context.
3. Configure iPad language settings
After adding and translating the languages:
-
Navigate to Location settings > iPad and click on the Languages from the left side of your screen.
-
Enable the same languages you added in the Languages section.
-
Disable English to ensure the check-in flow operates exclusively in non-English languages.
The iPad welcome screen will be displayed in the language that is set at the top of the list in the Languages section under Location Settings. You can reorder the languages to prioritize a specific one.
And that's all, your check-in flow is ready to welcome visitors! If you have any questions or need help, feel free to contact us from the live support chat. 💚
